She could go to the party with the downright gorgeous CEO of Yankee Motorworks. “I don’t know, Alex. I didn’t appreciate it when you used me in your plot against Kenny. It hardly seems fair for me to turn around and use you to get back at Will.”

“But there’s a big difference. I’m asking you to let me help you with this.”

He did have a point. “I’m just not sure.”

“Please?”

Will had always been her vision of the ultimate male, but as she looked at Alex, she had to admit she found him more appealing. “You make it hard to say no.”

“Then say yes.”

She shrugged her shoulders in resignation, hoping she wasn’t making a mistake. “All right. I’ll go to Grandee’s party with you.”

“I’ll pick you up at six-thirty.”

“All right.”

He nodded, then turned to go.

The sight of his bare back and the black leather hugging his rear was almost too much for her to let get away...again.

Genie bit down on her bottom lip to keep from calling to him. Instead, she listened to the sound of him going down the stairs. He paused in the living room and she hoped he might change his mind. Then she heard the sound of a zipper and realized he must be dressing.

Moments later she heard the front door open and close.
